This is a small attempt to put my thoughts and experience about the session with our CEO. (Arun Nathani, CEO, Cybage Software Pvt. Ltd.)
I was fortunate enough to attend the period where every employee likes to listen straight from the horse mouth.
It was not just a knowledge sharing session or some question and answer session. It was a period of time where you got the opportunity to hear and to know about the thought process of a Person who owns an Industry.
If you stop thinking about your own employment and start visualizing the motto behind the words of the gregarious personality, you can easily elicit the profound nature of satisfying not only a mere employee but a group of 4000 odd people of various ideas.
It was obvious that people are ebullient in shooting ‘n’ number of questions regarding appraisal and financial growth which were answered in imperturbable manner though the answers are never convincing in an employee point of view. After all we are poor human beings of 21st century with more needs and necessities than required.
The answers make sense only if you think you are the same place facing these questions as the lead of the organization. Here I want to quote that the fundamental theory of business is ‘to build on your strength but not on your weakness’.
As nothing on the earth is perfect, here are few cases where the projects are unsuccessful in a services providing company. What might be the possible situations and parameters those lead in failure or cancellation of a project?
– Less revenue – here less is relative term
– Customer not being stable –Usually smaller and inchoate ones
– Unable to satisfy with the quality of the deliverables – when there is ambiguity in the requirement
According to the CEO, the probability of implementing ‘business theory’ is always directly proportionality to the infrastructure of the company. This has been explained by taking an example by contrasting two companies, one with nearly hundred million dollars revenue and another with more than 1 billion dollars revenue.
One of the valid questions which were answered in the best possible manner was – Why the vacancy dash board is to be hidden where the people on resource pool (reserve bench) are eager to show their skills? The simple answer is to avoid chaos. Yes..! That’s absolutely correct just to maintain the resource balance.
As the owner of the company, he made sure that his architecture not to turn as a fool’s paradise in the toughest of all periods. And yeah I am talking about ‘THE RECESSION PERIOD’. It was never been either a wild goose chase or a rocket science for him in placing the organization in greater heights. So as an employee one should let bygones be bygones by contributing genuinely to the firm.
